Tempe Festival of the Arts
Tempe Festival of the Arts

More than 300 fine artists and crafts persons display and sell their original work amid a street festival atmosphere throughout Downtown Tempe. A beloved, award-winning tradition, the event is the largest festival of its kind in the state of Arizona, hosting as many as 225,000 festival visitors.

Sunshine Artists Magazine (the leading publication for festival artists) ranked the Tempe Festivals of the Arts in the Top 200 fine art and fine craft festivals nationwide, based on artists’ surveys of excellence.

Coming from throughout the country—and around the world—Festival artists’ original works cover the gamut of creative visual categories including painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics, folk craft, glass, leather, metalwork, wearable art, woodwork, mixed media (2 and 3 dimensional).

The Tempe Festival of the Arts features only original work and our original artists are all present on-site to greet festival attendees. NO BUY/SELL PRODUCTS ARE ALLOWED AT THIS FESTIVAL, and if they are discovered the booths will be closed. Works of art range from collector masterpieces to affordable art and craft for enthusiasts on small budgets.

The Fall Festival admits slightly more artisans and is geared toward a gift-buying holiday market. The Spring Festival admits slightly fewer artisans and is geared more toward people buying for their own enjoyment.

Arizona enjoys a robust tourism market, with both festivals bookending our highest tourism season that includes our valued “snowbird” clientele.

The Tempe Festival of the Arts accepts artists’ applications exclusively through Zapplication (www.zapplication.org). The service is free and to apply for our festival you must submit through that service. It’s easy: go to the Zapp website and follow the instructions for creating your own account. Once you have done that, you’ll receive all of Zapp’s notices for shows throughout the country, including the Tempe Festival of the Arts.
